About CitrineSocial & the Developer
Hello, I am Raj Sarkar, and I have been developing this social media platform. Why am I building CitrineSocial? If you look at the social media apps near to us like Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, they are great at providing curated feeds and they are free to use.
So, what's the loss here? It's doom scrolling. It's endless until time exist (and unless we are Loki fixing the time threads xD, if we lose a minute, it will never come back). Moreover, these platforms are free, but they cost you user tracking—monitoring how much time you watch a video, tracking your clicks, location data, and browsing history. Their business models rely heavily on advertising, personalization, and extensive data collection.
That's why I developed CitrineSocial, where everything is in your control:
- ✓ No Doom Scrolling: Set the exact number of posts you want to watch in a go (10, 20, or 100—no limit). This creates a natural endpoint so you realize how many posts you've consumed and can get back to being productive.
- ✓ Feeds: Feeds are divided into multiple parts: Friends Feed, Follower Feed, Interest Feed, Trending Feed (showing the top 100 posts), and Discovery Feed. The Interest Feed is filled only by the topics you select.
- ✓ Real-Time Discovery: Want to find new friends, follow new people, or develop a new interest? Visit the Discovery Feed to see real-time posts by users with zero algorithm manipulation.
- ✓ Minimal Tracking: We do not track what captures your interest via watch time or clicks. More importantly, we don't store personal data like your IP address or country of origin. (Authentication is managed securely by Auth0).
- ✓ Digital Gifts & Monetization: People can give you predefined digital gifts, which gives you points which you can redeem for gift cards after a cool down period.
- ✓ Rich Media: Upload images, videos, and even 3D models a feature other social media platforms aren't currently providing.
- ✓ AI Moderation: New posts are actively moderated by AI, and we provide robust reporting options to remove any inappropriate content that slips through.
We even have games too (currently Tic-Tac-Toe, might add more later!). NO feed algorithm and minimal tracking—everything is in your control.
